3 Pan Mee recipes will remove your "PAN MEE IS BORING" thought

You might think Pan Mee is the definition of a boring meal, but I assure you it is not.

Pan Mee is a popular noodle dish in Malaysia. Some like dry pan mee with dark soy sauce gravy, and some like chilli pan mee, ma-la pan mee, curry pan mee, and so on.

But, if you enjoy the same Pan Mee recipe week after week, don't you feel bored? Don't worry, here I provide 3 Pan Mee recipes you never tried before. Check it out!


1. Banana PanMee


Surprisingly delicious!

The dough has a slight banana flavor and doesn't feel nauseous. This is a must try recipes when you are looking something special recipes or you are hungry.

2. Dragon Fruit PanMee

The taste of dragon fruit is not particularly strong, but it is slightly sweet. Its color may affect your appetite and it is very suitable for those who do not like to eat fruit.

3. Kiwi PanMee

Kiwi's sweet and sour taste is brought into the soup base. It is very appetizing. It is no longer a bowl of ordinary PanMee, because you can bite the seeds of Kiwi when you are eating.

THE RECIPES
Ingredients A (for dough) : 

200g Wheat flour/ tepung gandum
1 large egg
1 cup of water (100ml-150ml)
1/4 tsp salt
1/2 tsp oil
Fruit( Banana / Dragon Fruit / Kiwi / Mango / Avocado )

Steps A (for dough) :

1. Pour the flour into a large bowl and slowly pour in the water by portion.

2. Mix the flour with water until it is a little sticky, then cracks the egg and pour in 1/4 tsp of oil and 1/2 tsp of salt.

3. Mash the fruit and knead with the dough until it is no longer sticky.

4. Add in water if the dough is too dry or add in flour if the dough is too sticky to knead

5. Once done, cover the dough with a damp cloth.

*Tips: Knead the dough for 8-10 minutes. Pick up the dough and throw onto the work surface 10 times in between kneading the dough. Do this 3-4 times through kneading time. You will immediately notice that throwing the dough helps it become smooth and elastic.


Ingredients B (for soup)

150ml water
1 cup dried anchovies(ikan bilis)


Steps B (for soup)

1. Clean the anchovies

2. Add the anchovies and water in a pot. Bring to the boil over medium–high heat.

3. Once boiled, reduce the heat to low and simmer for 15 minutes.

4. Use a slotted spoon to remove the anchovies. Then, the soup base is done!


Ingredients C 

Fish Ball
Vegetables

* Tips: may add in any ingredient, according to own preferences. eg. mushroom, fried anchovies, dried onion and so on.

Step C

1. Once everything it’s prepared, take the soup (ingredients A) and boil over medium high heat.

2. Take some of the dough and gently pull the dough to get a bite size, tear it off and drop it in the pot of soup.

3. Let it cook until it turns slightly white, then add in fish ball and vegetables (ingredients C) 

4. Cook for another 3 minutes and turn off the heat

5. Is ready to serve ! Enjoy 😃
